MugShot_matthew hamiltonMonday morning, November 19th, just after 2 o’clock Marshall County Deputies responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle on Olive Road.

After locating the vehicle, Deputy Smith with the Sheriff`s Department attempted to make a traffic stop on the suspected vehicle in the 6000 block of Queen Road.

The vehicle driven by 28 year old Mathew Hamilton of Knox failed to stop. Hamilton`s vehicle eventually left the roadway on Lincoln Highway near US 30 where the driver was then taken into custody.

Hamilton was lodged in the Marshall County Jail for Resisting Law Enforcement, Reckless Driving, and Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. He was given a $3,000 cash bond.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
