Immigration 101

Have you ever wondered… Why are so many people trying to come to the USA? What is the application process like? Why do some people come illegally? What does DACA mean? What is TPS? What is birthright citizenship?

Everyone is invited to a public informational meeting at the Plymouth Public Library on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 6:30 PM to learn about immigration.

Since the forced removal of the Potawatomi in 1838, many people groups have migrated to what is now known as Marshall County, including English, German, Mexican, Honduran, and many others. How did we all get here?

We will have testimonies from local residents who will share their stories of migrating to Marshall County and navigating the complicated legal questions around residency. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers in a welcoming and non-judgmental space.

This event is sponsored by the community group “La Voz Unida” which means “One Voice.” La Voz Unida is a group of community members united to speak for justice and compassion for all.
