Marshall County Commissioner, Kevin Overmyer shared some of the steps being taken in connection with the Steller Designation during Tuesday night’s Bourbon Town Council meeting.
Overmyer said cities and towns within Marshall County have united their efforts in the hopes of being chosen as one of two submissions that will be awarded.
Overmyer said, “All towns came together over the summer to formulate this plan.” Some 21 interested parties are expected to present a 60 minute overview of the local plan and a video to the awarding committee on November 15 in Indianapolis. Among other ideas, Overmyer said they want to use a planning grant to bring more fiber optic into Marshall County.
Bourbon Council President, Les McFarland said, “All of the towns have been working well together-coming up with ideas.”
