Allie Shook, Recreation Director for the Plymouth Park Department told Park Board members Monday evening that they were at day 41 of the 45 day patronicity online campaign to raise $11,000 for the canoe/kayak launch in River Park Square. Once the local match of $11,000 is reached the project will receive an additional $11,000 from the IHCDA (Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority).
Shook told board member that they hadreached the goal of $11,000 and then some! Once the goal was reached the decision to “stretch” the goal to $15,000 was made since the campaign continues until 11:45 p.m. on Friday, November 9th.
The extra funds which will not be matched by the IHCDA will continue to go towards the launch and will be used to add some additional features, or upgrade some of the planned construction materials.
As of Tuesday evening, a total of 132 patrons had donated a total of $15,910 towards the project. There is still time to help build the project bigger and better by donation until this Friday night.
