Vote centerIt’s Election Day.  The polls in Marshall County are open today until 6 p.m.

Registered voters are reminded that Marshall County now uses Vote Centers so you don’t have to vote in a particular location, you can vote anywhere in the county that it is convenient for you.

The 12 Vote Centers are: Bourbon High School, Argos United Methodist Church, LaPaz Fire Station, Tyner Community Building, Tippecanoe Community Building, the Culver Depot, Bremen High School, Bremen Missionary Church, Pretty Lake Church on State Road 17 west of Plymouth, Plymouth High School, Knights of Columbus on East Jefferson Street in Plymouth and Marshall County REMC.

There are several races on the ballot in Marshall County including US Senator with incumbent Joe Donnelly being challenged by Mike Braun and the US House of Representative District 2 seat currently held by Jackie Walorski and challenged by Mel Hall.

A more local look at the ballot has State Representative District 17 incumbent Jack Jordan against the challenger Michelle Livinghouse.  On the county level there is a race for the District 1 County Commissioner seat between Stan Klotz and Richard Erickson and a couple races for County Council seats.   In County Council District 2 Mandy Campbell and Martin Oosterbaan; District 3 has Jack Roose and Mark Gidley head to head and in District 4 the incumbent Judy Stone is being challenged by Angie Rupchock-Schafer.

There will be a new Center Township Trustee in 2019.  Will it be Amy Knapp or Jim Smart?  There are also 6 candidates to fill the three seats for the Center Township Board, the three republicans Jim Bladwin, Keith Hammonds and Bruce Knapp and on the democratic side Nathan Crawford, Brandon Rich and Leticia Torres.

Current West Township Trustee Terry Borggren is being challenged by Greg Frushour.
