Child Abuse suspectTwo citizens from Plymouth were arrested on charges of child abuse. 

The case began on October 23rd when the Marshall County Sheriff`s Department received a complained of a possible child abuse case, involving a two-year old child from St. Joseph Regional Hospital located in Mishawaka.

The Marshall County Sheriff`s Department immediately started an investigation.  A case report was completed and forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor`s Office for review and possible charges being filed. 

MugShot_Dawn Walter 11-4-18On Friday, November 02, the Prosecutor`s Office filed formal charges on 31 year old Dawn Water of the 2,0000 block of Quince Road and 33 year old Mica Kunkle of Quince Road.

MugShot_Micah KunkleWalter and Kunkle were each charged with Aggravated Battery Use when results in loss or impairment of a bodily function as a Level 3 Felony, Battery with Serious Bodily injury to a Person Under 14 as a Level 3 Felony, Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Serious Injury but resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, Level  3 Felony, Battery Resulting Bodily Injury Person Under 14, Level 5 Felony, Neglect of a Dependent, Deprives Dependent of necessary support, Level 6 Felony

On Friday, November 02, Dawn Walter was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail and on Saturday, November 03, Micah Kunkle was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail.

The bonds for Micah Kunkle and Dawn Walter were set at $100,000 cash.
