On Thursday, October 25th, about 9:45 at night, Officer Wozniak with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department initiated a traffic stop in the area of Michigan and Tyler Roads on a red 2000 Jeep. 

MugShot_Michel JacobsDuring the traffic stop, Officer Wozniak utilized his canine partner Irok on the exterior of the vehicle.  Irok alerted to the presence of narcotics and search of the vehicle resulted in finding 1.1 grams of methamphetamine and 3.3 grams of marijuana. 

MugShot_Angela SingletonThe driver of the vehicle, 41 year old Michael D. Jacobs of Mishawaka, and a passenger 41 year old Angela M. Singleton of Bremen were both taken into custody for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Marijuana and lodged in the Marshall County Jail.  Jocobs was held on a $3,000 cash bond while Singleton’s bond was set at $1,500.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
