Plymouth Color Logo2014Members of the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety approved two requests during their meeting Monday evening.

Laura Mann the Promotion of the City Coordinator was granted approval to close Michigan Street from Pennsylvania Avenue to Adams Street for the annual Lighted Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting on Saturday, November 24th.

Mann explained that with the new apartments on the South Gateway, the city’s lighted Christmas Tree that sits next to Bowen Printing cannot be seen from River Park Square.  This plan is to have folks gather at Michigan and LaPorte Street for the tree lighting ceremony.

Michigan Street will be closed on November 24th from 5:45 to 6:30.

The Board of Works also approved the request of the Women’s Care Center to close the alley behind their building on October 28th, 29th, and 30th so a mason can repair the brick façade on the east side of their building.
