Rock Steady BoxingFitness Forum Sports and Wellness at LifePlex is now offering a program for residents that have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.  Parkinson’s Disease causes a loss of many of the same elements that boxers condition to improve.  Published medical research has shown that force, intense exercise can reduce, reverse and delay Parkinson’s symptoms.

Fitness Forum at the LifePlex is now a certified authorized provider of Rock Steady Boxing focused on empowering people diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.

While boxer’s condition for optimal agility, speed, muscular endurance, accuracy, balance, hand-eye coordination, footwork and over strength, the Rock Steady Boxing program gives people with Parkinson’s hope by improving their quality of life through a non-contact boxing based fitness curriculum.  Rock Steady Boxing, the first boxing program of its kind in the county, was founded by former Marion County, IN Prosecutor Scott Newman, who is living with Parkinson’s.

The staff at Fitness Forum consists of physical therapists, certified personal trainers and degreed professionals in exercise science and athletic training.  They are eager to make a positive difference in the lives of patients diagnosed with Parkinson’s.  For more information contact the Fitness Forum at LifePlex.
