Just before midnight, Tuesday night, the Bremen Fire Department was dispatched to 5018 West Shore Drive at Lake of the Woods for a structure fire. The deeded owner of the property, according to Marshall County GIS is Christopher M. Speth from South Bend.
Fire officials say one person was injured while escaping the house fire. They were transported to the burn unit in a Fort Wayne Hospital for treatment.
Firefighters said the fire started in the garage and then spread to the home. The house sustained significant damage and fire fighters were called back to the scene Wednesday morning when the fire rekindled.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
