Steve Douglas of Ft. Wayne recently performed at Miller’s Assisted Living Facility. Douglas is a favorite entertainer but hadn’t been to the facility for several years so it was nice hearing his excellent guitar playing and his selection of soft rock, country, and gospel selections.
He delighted the audience with a song that he composed to the music to while the poetry was written by former resident Gladys Umbaugh. The words are a beautiful love story about middle aged love called “Young Again” and Douglas was inspired several years ago to set the poem to music. It was a fond remembrance to those who knew Gladys.
Douglas shared songs of various artists such as James Taylor, Eric Clapton, Johnny Cash, Elvis, and Neil Diamond. Resident Patty Miller joined Douglas during “Sweet Caroline” to guide the audience in the song.
