Ambulance2Emergency responders to a domestic dispute on September 25th received a thank-you from the female who was injured during the event.

Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter asked Fire Chief Rod Miller to read an email he received earlier this month the victim who wanted to thank the EMTs and Paramedics that took care of her and her two young daughters.

The email explained the situation saying, “I had been in a domestic altercation and had broken several of my fingers.  I had ran out of my home with my two daughters barefoot and sacred.”  Her note goes on to say, “It was the EMTs that not only took care of my girls and I but also comforted us in a time of need.”  She said, “You never know how thankful you should be of police, EMS and fire until you one day need them.”

The unnamed victim said the two EMT/Paramedics made things so much easier for her.  Knowing she had broken fingers, she refused transport to the hospital knowing they would just splint them and she didn’t want to leave her girls.  Those emergency responders talked her into an ambulance ride to the hospital and even carried her barefoot daughters to the ambulance and bundled them up in blankets to keep them warm. She said, “They made feel like everything was okay.”

She closed her comments to Fire Chief Miller saying, “I cannot stress enough how absolutely amazing they were to my girls and myself during such a horrible time for us.  I will never ever forget the compassion they took in caring for my girls and I that night.”
