County BuildingThe Marshall County Council will meet Monday morning beginning at 9 a.m. in the second floor meeting room of the County Building.

The agenda for the meeting includes a request from Ward Byers of Community Corrections for an interim Pre-Trail Quality Assurance Coordinator.

Sheriff Matt Hassel and Communication Director for the Sheriff’s Department, Matt Pitney will request permission to seek a NG911 Equipment Grant to purchase a new recorder at an estimated cost of $100,000.  The NG911 Grant is a 60/40 matching grant that will be available in the near future with a very small window of opportunity.   The Sheriff will seek approval for a DARE/Drug Free Community Grant.

Also on the County Council agenda is the information from County Health Director Christine Stinson and Plan Director Ty Adley.  They would like to create a task force to look at the possibility of creating a countywide regional sewer district due to water quality issues.

After their normal monthly business the County Council will begin the 2019 Budget review and decision making process.  It’s anticipated the budget will take several hours.

The County Council meeting is open to the public although comments and questions are limited to the first order of business during the meeting.
