road_workThe Marshall County Highway Department will be doing shoulder work on 3rd Road, Nutmeg Road and Oak Road on Thursday where they paved earlier this summer.
Jason Peters, Highway Supervisor said, “After completing this work we will move to 6a Road off Michigan Road to Oak to 6th Road and over to Plymouth LaPorte. These also were roads that we paved earlier this summer.”
The County Highway Department asks drivers to please try and avoid these area and expect road closure and road construction if you must travel on them.

The highway department plans to start this road work around 7:45 a.m. to allow the morning commute to flow as normal.

The material being used to create the 2 foot shoulders is what the county received from PAR Electric earlier this summer and was crushed.  This material will save the county quite a bit on money.

Peters said there will also be brush trimming in various spot along roadsides throughout the county being done.   Two different units will be out trimming back brush.
The county highway will begin a culvert replace project on Thursday too south of 18B on Queen Road causing the county to close the road.  Crew will start after 8:00 a.m. and hopes to be completed by 2:30 in the afternoon.
