lincoln Junior High logo newConstruction on the new Lincoln Junior High School is on schedule according to Derek Anderson, project manager. Anderson briefs the Plymouth School Board at their regular meeting each month.

Anderson told the board on September 4 that the work done so far has been below grade and, therefore, not easily seen. However, the work scheduled for the upcoming weeks will be more visible. Anderson said they are starting with the gym area since it is in the middle of the building. He said, “We hope to have the first floor enclosed by winter.”

Anderson did indicate that finding enough qualified crews for the masonry work could be a challenge. He said there are 3-4 that they will be bringing in now and could to have 7-8 working through the winter. He further said they are hoping to have 10-15 ideally and it could be possible to attract them since they can work indoors during the winter months.

He said, “The lack of masons is a state problem and even a national problem. It is a real issue.” He said.
