Culver Town Manager, Jonathan Leist appeared before the Marshall County Commissioners on Tuesday to seek approval to expand the Lake Max Bike and Walking Trail using a portion of the county’s right-of-way.
Leist said the proposed project will be included in Marshall County’s application for the Regional Stellar Communities Designation Program.
Recently the Culver Town Board approved the project and required match. Discussions with the town and Academy led to the location on the south side of Academy Road.
The County Commissioners approved a resolution supporting the use of the county’s right-of-way for the trail project if the Stellar application is successful. He noted that the project wouldn’t be completed until sometime between 2022 and 2025.
