Debbie Dunning, Marshall County Assessor was honored by the State Assessor’s Association as the 2018 County Assessor of the year this week.
Debbie started in the assessor’s office in the early 2000’s working for then assessor Mike Boys. In 2006 Debbie was elected Marshall County Assessor and started in January 1, 2007.
When she started as county assessor the office used vendors to help assess the 33,000 plus parcels. The county now does all the work in house with all aspects and steps of the assessment process. One of the few counties out of the 92 in the state that can say they do not use vendors. She managers an office of seven where she is very proud that two are Level II Assessor Appraisers and five are Level III Assessor Appraisers.
Debbie Dunning is up for re election this year, and has said this is her last term. She is a level III Assessor Appraiser and also holds her brokers license.
She currently serves as secretary/treasurer of the northwest district for county assessor association.
