Parking RestrictionMembers of the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety considered another requests to restrict parking during their meeting Monday evening.

City Attorney Sean Surrisi presented a request from Mayor Mark Senter to restrict parking on Garro Street, east of Liberty Street.  Surrisi said traffic is extremely congested at the intersection when Lincoln Junior High is letting-out with parents parking on the south side of the street to pick up their kids and residents parking on the north side of the street.  Surrisi said, “With parking on both sides of the street, there is only one lane of traffic and the busses need to get through too.”

The Mayor requested no parking on Garro Street between Liberty to Indiana Streets.

It was suggest to only limit parking while school is in session, basically Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. till 4 p.m.

Before the board took any action they asked Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt  to notify the residents on the block of a discussion on the request at the September 10th meeting.
