Scam_Alert_1Plymouth Police are warning citizens of a possible scam happening in the community.

On Tuesday, August 21 at least two individuals were working in the Plymouth area.  They made contact with a woman, and misrepresented themselves as if they were with her medical alert company.  They told her they were there to upgrade her equipment.  She let them in to her house, and they installed a complete home alarm system that she did not request.  They took her other medical alert equipment that she was using.

The equipment they installed was from Alder Security.  Alder Security is a legitimate company, but the two men misrepresented the reason they were at the house, and installed a system at that the victim did not authorize.

Plymouth Police are warning citizens, “If someone comes to your door that you did not request, be very careful and verify their information before allowing them to perform any work.”    In addition, all door to door sales conducted within the city limits are required to be registered with the Plymouth City Office and should show you their authorization.
