Miller's_Eagle Scout Court of Honor july 2018Anna Corbett, Marketing Director and Cindy Flagg, Activity Director of Miller’s Assisted Living were recently invited to attend the Eagle Scout Court of Honor Awards Ceremony held at Christo’s Banquet Center in Plymouth.  Three young men were awarded the highly esteemed Eagle Scout award during this ceremony.

Taki Kurtis told about his project which involved building a new goat barn for Earthworks.  He indicated he’d been working toward his Eagle Scout Award since first grade!  Joshua Carter explained his project of building bat boxes and the importance that bats play in the environmental process.  The third recipient was Christopher Fishburn who designed and constructed a quarter mile walking path through the wooded area behind Miller’s Assisted Living Facility.  The walking path is for the entire community to use.

“Planning and working on this Eagle Scout Project taught me the importance of giving back to my community,” stated Fishburn.  It also taught me a lot about red-tape and the paper process!”

The awards ceremony progressed with a meaningful “pinning” process which involved mothers, fathers, and mentors receiving pins from the newly declared Eagle Scouts.

Mayor Mark Senter, who received his Eagle Scout award in 1971 spoke during the ceremony and read a poem titled “The Boy Scout’s Mother Asked” by F. Darnall Daley, Jr.

Miller’s Senior Living community is proud of these three young men and especially pleased to have Christopher Fishburn on the Miller’s TEAM!
