Bourbon Town Board Discussed Internet Issues with Providers

July 12, 2018

Bourbon Water Tower_1Although the agenda item listed Fourway under “Business Brought to Attention” at the Bourbon Town meeting Tuesday, it actually included two local internet providers.  The council members present discussed problems with internet services by Fourway and Hyperwave. Both providers use the town’s water tower to mount their equipment. According to Town Clerk, Kim Berger, Fourway does not pay the town for the tower use, but Hyperwave does pay a monthly fee.

The problem seems to center around frequency range disruptions with interference to each others signal. During the meeting the discussion between the two providers and the council showed that both providers expressed an interest in coming to a solution.  They will report back to the council within 30days.

Steve Stacy, Waste Water Superintendent, said hydrant flushing will take place the week of July 18 through July 27.  He indicated that they anticipate that the process will be completed during that time period, but that it could take a little longer.
