NewsA number of years ago, Marshall County purchased the property at 500 E. LaPorte Street, near the historic footbridge, as part of their Yellow River bank stabilization project.  At that time, the County indicated their interest in transferring the property to the City of Plymouth.

With the development of River Park Square and the future restoration of the historic footbridge, having this property would be advantageous and could allow for future use as an overlook or trail node by the city.

Monday evening the Plymouth Common Council passed a resolution accepting the transfer of the property from the county.

City Attorney Sean Surrisi said the County Commissioners will adopt a similar resolution at their next meeting and then execute a quit claim deed to the City for the lot.
