County News # 1During Monday’s County Council meeting, members approved the request of Health Department head, Christine Stinson to apply for the Emergency Preparedness Grant from the Indiana State Health Department.

The grant, in the amount of $16,085 is used to fund the salary of the part-time Emergency Preparedness Director, Teresa Budd who has been in the position since January.

The council also approved the request of Emergency Management Director, Clyde Avery to apply for the 2018 Emergency Management Performance Grant to reimburse the county 50% of his 2018 salary and benefit package.  Avery noted that the funds will be paid to the county in 2019.

Both requests were unanimously approved.
