West Jefferson-1Plymouth Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt told members of the Board of Public Works and Safety he and City Engineer Rick Gaul went to the West Jefferson Street area where Roy Roush has made several complaints over the past couple of years.

West Jefferson-2Marquardt said they have determined the berm on the north side is dirt that isn’t too stable.  The plan is to grade out 5 to 6 inches or deeper when it’s determined what, if any utilities are in the right-of-way.  The city will fill-in with millings and top it off with limestone.

West jefferson-3Marquardt said they will work in phases so they don’t have the entire block torn up at one time, but in workable phases.  The project will begin right after the 4th of July.

Marquardt also presented two requests for sidewalk projects, 300 West Jefferson the Marcy Eckhoff Wagner property and 814 North Walnut Street the Dorothy Doczy property.  Marquardt said the Eckhoff Wagner property is fairly far down on the ADA Transition Plan.  He said the sidewalk is in fairly good shape with only a couple minor trip hazards and the intersection is ADA compliant.

The Doczy property between Jackson and Harrison has a tree that has caused some minor damage.  She also requested having the tree removed.

Marquardt said there was only a minor issues with the sidewalk and the tree appeared to be in decent shape.

The Street Superintendent will list these requests as fill-in projects when time and funding is available later this season or in the next couple of years.
