Marshall County’s proud history of entrepreneurship makes it a perfect place to develop and grow startup businesses. That is why Marshall County Economic Development Corporation took part in Notre Dame’s IDEA Week, an event which introduces entrepreneurs, developers, and investors to each other and highlights the economic growth in our region.

MCEDC’s involvement in IDEA Week was made possible by funding support from the Marshall County Community Foundation and Plymouth Redevelopment Commission.

MCEDC awarded $15,000 in funding in the Best Collaboration (Students and Community) category to Impowerus through the McCloskey New Venture Competition. The startup connects juvenile immigrants with attorneys performing pro bono immigration work.

Jerry Chavez, President and CEO said, “Sponsoring IDEA Week has allowed us to begin positioning Marshall County as a hub of innovation. MCEDC will continue to participate in IDEA Week in the coming years and engage with the entrepreneurial networks in Elkhart and South Bend.”
