LJH_Construction5-4-18The earth work for the construction phase of the new Lincoln Junior High School is now well underway. Plymouth Community Schools Superintendent, Andy Hartley, told the school board on Tuesday night that the first construction meeting was held. Hartley said there was work started on the relocation of water lines and a black border of material had been installed around the site to keep erosion from the streets.

Derek Anderson, project manager from Skillman Corporation is expected to appear at board meetings in the future to apprise the board of construction progress.

It was on June 11, 2017 that former Superintendent, Dan Tyree, explained the necessity to purchase an office building just east of the site of the new facility. Tyree said there is a required 50 ft. setback from the proposed building and that additional costs of construction to meet fire codes if there was not enough setback. The schools purchased the property and the office building has been demolished.

If the completion is on time, the new school should be completed in April or May of 2020.
