hydrant-flushingThe Plymouth Water Department has begun the month long water main flushing project.

Eric Kielman from the Water Department said employees will do unidirectional flushing on Tuesday in the area of Ozinga on Lincoln Highway west of Plymouth.  They will head west to D.C. Garage Door and then south across the field to Fairfield Blvd.  City Water employees will also flush the water main on Oak Drive west of Jefferson Street to the water tower near Coca-Cola Distributing at Oak Drive and Pidco Dr.

The unidirectional flushing allows the city to clean water mains by forcing the water flow to be reversed.  This newer process also saves on the amount of water used for the annual project.
