County News # 1Members of the Marshall County Plan Commission conducted a special meeting at noon on Friday for the purpose of selection a replacement for County Plan Director Ralph Booker who will retire at the end of the month.

Previously the board interviewed two candidates and during the public meeting sought a recommendation for the position.

Member Mike Delp made a motion to offer the position to Ty Adley who is originally from Rochester but currently working in South Carolina. Delp said he made the recommendation because of Adley’s education from Ball State and working in a county larger than Marshall County for over 2 years will be beneficial.  He also noted that Adley has two degrees.

Member Terri Barnhart was impressed with Adley’s Master’s Degree in Planning while Plan Commission Stan Klotz noted that he is willing to move to Marshall County.

Member of the Marshall County Plan Commission unanimously approved the motion to offer Ty Adley the position.

After a discussion Plan Commission member also motioned to keep the current salary for the position in place noting that Adley’s degree and experience are qualifying reasons to start him at the top pay.
