The third annual Summer Sippin’ Craft BrewFest benefiting Freedom Park located in Packard Woods is scheduled for Saturday, June 23rd in River Park Square.
Freedom Park is an all-inclusive playground where kids of all abilities can interact with their friends and family members. An inclusive playground can teach all children about diversity and acceptance.
The Summer Sippin’ Craft BrewFest is the biggest fundraiser for this park. The goal of the BrewFest is to raise enough money to purchase a swing-set where those who use a wheelchair can still enjoy the fun of swinging. This type of equipment is very expensive and will cost approximately $100,000.
This year the BrewFest committee anticipates 30 to 40 breweries participating with upwards of 100 beers for tasting.
There are three ticket prices available: the VIP ticket, regular admission and designated driver ticket. The VIP ticket is $60 and allows participants the opportunity to enjoy the event for an hour without the larger crowds. You will be admitted at 4 p.m. and this year several breweries will also offer a special VIP craft beer that will only be available for tasting during this hour. You also receive a commemorativeglass and unlimited tastings.
The general admission ticket is $45 and includes admission at 5 p.m. You also receive a commemorative glass and unlimited tastings.
The Designated Driver ticket is only $15 and admission is at 5 unless you are with an early admission guest. Coca Cola will be offering samples of several of their drinks for those not partaking in the alcoholic tastings. Pre-sale tickets are available at Apex Therapy, Beacon Credit Union and the Pilot News. Ticket can also be purchased on-line at eventbrite or at the gate on June 23rd.
Along with the opportunity to taste nearly 100 different beers there will be music. The opener from 5:00 to 6:30 is Hollywood and the headliner for the night is AINT RYTE. And new this year, Michiana Beer Reviewers will be there! Make sure you stop by their booth with a sample of your favorite brew to review live on their Facebook Page!
Food will also be available at the Summer Sippin’ Craft BrewFest on June 23rd. Fire Kissed Pizza, Bruce’s Big Grill and Ben’s Soft Pretzels will be serving all night long.
Everyone entering must show a valid ID and be at least 21 years of age. You must also bring everything you will need for the night in when you come because there are no pass outs. You may want a comfy chair, some shade, and possibly a jacket. All bags will be checked and no outside food or drinks are permitted.
