MugShot_Daniel NewmanMarshall County Police Officer Wozniak made a felony drug arrest on Saturday, May 12th.  

Shortly before 11:00 PM Marshall County Police were notified of green minivan traveling south on Michigan Road towards Plymouth.  It was suspected that the driver might possibly be impaired. 

County Officer Jordan Rans locate the vehicle and stopped it in the area of Michigan Street and Skylane Drive.   The driver of the vehicle, 58 year old Daniel B. Newman of South Bend was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended-prior driver`s license. 

During the investigation, Marshall County K9 Officer Andrew Wozniak was working DUI patrol and came to the scene.  Officer Wozniak`s K9 Irok was deployed on the vehicle and indicated drugs. 

A search of the vehicle resulted in the findings of 2.2 grams of heroin, .5 grams of methamphetamine, a glass pipe with cocaine residue and 12 syringes. 

Daniel Newman was taken to the Marshall County Jail and processed for possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and driving while suspended-prior.
