Plymouth Color Logo2014The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety opened three letters of interest for the historic footbridge restoration project.  City Attorney Sean Surrisi said United Consulting of Indiana declined to submit for the project but Ciobra Group of Michigan City, SEH of Munster and VS Engineering of Indianapolis did submit letters of interest.  Their packets will be given to Mayor Senter and councilmen Bill Walters and Duane Culp for review and scoring.

The Board of Works also awarded the bid for the West Lake Avenue water main extension project.  At the recommendation of Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson and Midwest Engineering, TGB Unlimited of South Bend was awarded the project with the lowest and most responsive bid of $124,502.40.  The next lowest bidder was Haskins Underground whose bid was $1,692 dollars higher.

The Board of Works also awarded the quote for a new half-ton pick-up truck for the Water Department to Oliver Ford for $29,860.  Martin Chevrolet had submitted a lower bid but three items did not meet specifications and 1 item was not addressed in their quote.  The 1-ton dump truck quote was also awarded to Oliver Ford at $64,041.  While Davidson requested quotes from 3 local dealers, Oliver Ford was the only one to submit.  The National Auto quote was $71,260 and they wouldn’t accept a trade-in and their quote did not meet specs.
