Bremen Public Library Media Lab 1Bremen Public Library is opening its new media lab to the public for the first time on this Saturday, May 12.

According to Library Director Kyle Burkett, the lab was made possible through grants from the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) and the Marshall County Community Foundation. The lab is equipped with the latest technology to help residents “Think Up, Make Up, Dream Up” in a variety of creative areas such as video production, audio recording and digital preservation.

“The lab gives residents the tools they need to explore new technologies,” Burkett said.

Bremen Public Library Media Lab 1Everyone is welcome to stop by the lab at the Bremen Library for demonstrations, door prizes and refreshments during the following times on Saturday, May 12:

11:00 – 12:00:  Digital Preservation (How to transfer VHS to DVD and scan photographs into digital formats)

1:00 – 2:00:  Video Production (How to produce videos using the green screen and iMovie)

3:00 – 4:00:  Audio Recording (How to use Garage Band and the basic concepts of multi-track recording)
