Plymouth Color Logo2014The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety approved a couple requests during their meeting Monday evening.

John Montgomery from the Coffee Lodge was granted approval to close both sides of Beerenbrook just off Jefferson Street on the first Saturday of each month for a Cars & Coffee event.

Montgomery said the streets would be closed from 6 a.m. till 11 a.m. while the Cars & Coffee car show would run from 7 a.m. till 10 a.m.  He also noted that a reserve officer from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department would assist with traffic control.

Cars & Coffee will start on Saturday, May 5th and run through September.

A request from Saint Michael School was also approved the by the Board of Public Works and Safety.  They will be closing one block of Center Street from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on May 23rd for their annual Olympics event.

The Common Council approved the request of the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department to fundraise for the annual Relay for Life event that will be held in River Park Square on June 16th.

Firefighters will be at the intersection of Michigan and Jefferson Streets on Saturday, June 2nd from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. to solicit donations from drivers.

Volunteer firefighter Jim Budd said if they are able to attain their goal this year they will have raised over $40,000 in 4 years.
