Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) and Ancilla College have announced a new partnership agreement that will allow students to seamlessly transfer from the community college and begin pursuing a four-year baccalaureate degree. The dual admissions initiative created by ONU is aptly dubbed Pursue ONU and will provide Ancilla students an opportunity to earn a bachelor of business administration, bachelor of applied science in management, a bachelor of science in nursing, or a master of science in nursing.

“At Ancilla we are focused on providing a small learning environment where we can focus on our first- and second-year students who have dreams of furthering their education. Pursue ONU is the perfect program to help our students continue their academic pursuits and obtain a college degree,” Sam Soliman, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Ancilla College, founded in 1937, is a private, Catholic, not-for-profit, two-year college offering over two dozen associate degree programs. Students from 16 states and 20 countries live and learn at Ancilla. The college is one of many community colleges participating in Pursue ONU, a program designed for students who desire to continue furthering their education. Ancillastudents receive support from Olivet’s Student Accounts departments.

“The Pursue ONU initiative will provide Ancilla students with a smooth transition from a two-year college towards a bachelor’s degree.  ONU is pleased to partner with Ancilla College to give students the opportunity to achieve their personal and professional goals. Since both schools hold similar values, we are encouraged that the Ancilla students who transfer will feel right at home at Olivet, with an encouraging environment and faith-based education,” said Tiffany Holohan, Olivet’s Senior Director of Transfer Relations at the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies.

The Pursue ONU initiative allows students to be simultaneously admitted to Ancilla and ONU’s School of Graduate and Continuing Studies (SGCS.) Through the SGCS, adults and other non-traditional students can study Nursing, Business, Education, and Ministry at the bachelor, master, and doctoral levels. Approved in all 50 states, classes can be taken online throughout the country.

Dually admitted Ancilla students can transfer more quickly by taking general education and prerequisite classes before beginning as full-time Olivet students. Academic advisors will ensure that students are enrolled in only the courses needed to pursue their bachelor degree.
