drug+take-backMarshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel recently announced that the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Marshall County Committee for a Drug-Free Indiana will be participating in the DEA’s XV National Drug Take Back Initiative.  On Saturday, April 28th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. residents can drop off their expired, unused or unwanted prescription drugs to the Marshall County Sheriff Officer’s and Drug Free Committee in the parking lot of the Walgreens Drug Store at 2014 North Michigan Street in Plymouth.

The National Survey on Drug Use and Health in 2009 estimates that there were 7 million non-medical users of prescription drugs in the United States.  The survey further psychotherapeutics than the number of cocaine, heroin and hallucinogen abusers combined.  Expired, unused or unwanted medications in our homes are a potential source of supply to the drug abusers making is a risk to public health and safety.

Please take a few minutes to clean out your medicine cabinets and bring them to Walgreens Drug store this Saturday, April 28th between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
