Wild Rose Moon theater Earth Hug BoogieTheater at The Moon! A Michiana Premier! Come hear David Hoppe’s remarkable dramatic poem, Sacred Sands, as performed by Wild Rose Moon’s own theater group, The Moonitics–under the direction of Cindy Davis. Vera Tiani-Shuppert, Bev Woods, Jim Bowen, Dan Shuppert, Howard Gibbs, Cindy Davis, and Marci Wagoner do a marvelous job bringing this lyrical and thought-provoking poem to life.

Hoppe’s piece explores the historical and ecological significance of the establishment of The Dune’s State Park and National Lakeshore in 1966. Part of the presentation involves a captivating dialogue between Illinois Senator Paul Douglas and Indiana Representative, Charlie Halleck. The piece is accompanied by the mystical guitar work of Jim Yokom and Fridaynight there’s a special talk by the author himself.  It’s all free and part of Earth Hug Boogie week in Marshall County.

Before Sacred Sands begins The Boogie Band will treat the audience to a few ecological songs under the direction of Mike Kenny. Joining Mike on stage will be Lane Laffoon, Howard Gibbs, Jim Yocom, Liza Woolever, and George Schricker. As a special treat, you’ll hear The Earth Hug Boogie song performed live by the songwriter himself, Jim Yocom.

Music, Theater, and Refreshments: It’s all happening at the Wild Rose Moon Performing Arts Center in Historic Downtown Plymouth Friday and Saturday April 20th and 21st at 8 p.m..
