Operation Quiet ComfortA few tickets are still available for the Operation Quiet Comfort fundraising dinner this Thursday night, April 19th at the Knights of Columbus Hall at Columbus Drive and East Jefferson Street.

This is the 7th annual dinner and ALL funds raised will benefit Operation Quiet Comfort, a not-for-profit organization that mails care packages to America’s military men and women who become sick or injured while serving in harm’s way.  They also provide support to the men and women who care for them.

Doors open at 5 and the buffet meal will be served at 6.   This fabulous dinner includes two hogs from Houin Farms and Wayne Houin, MSD pork from Dave Stultz and Steve Roberts with Big Boss BBQ of Silver Lake doing the cooking.  Buns for the pulled pork from Dairy Queen, BBQ sauce from King Gyro, green beans from Castaways, scalloped potatoes from Christo’s Banquet Center,  baked beans from Penguin Point, cole slaw and macaroni salad from Ponderosa.  Everything is donated for this event, water from Culligan, lemonade from The Office, cups from Wings Ect, plates and eating utensils from Grand Rental station, napkins from Pizza Hut, Ice from Speedway Gas Station and homemade pies from Carol Blake and other ladies.
