Triton_Readers_1Jeremy Riffle, Superintendent of the Triton School Corporation took time last week to thank all those who attended the Book Fair.  He said, “We had a great turn out and made $1,000 to spend on new books for the library.”

Expressing the importance of reading the school held a 3 week competition.  Riffel said, “We were also having a reading competition and had a total of 70,999 minutes turned in for those 3 weeks.”

The winning class from the 1st – 3rd graders is Mrs. Stryker’s class with 7,384 minutes.  2nd place was Mrs. Phenix’s class with 6,130 minutes.

Triton_readers_2The winning class from the 4th – 6th graders is Mrs. Mevis’ class with a total of 10,383 minutes.  2nd place was Mr. Heckaman’s class with a total of 7,618 minutes.

 

Triton’s superintendent closed his comments by saying, “Great job to all the fantastic readers!! Great Job Mrs. Shafer for all of your hard work and effort to encourage reading at Triton Elementary School!!”
