City Police arrested 26 year old Olivia Dickson on Friday, December 1st after learning she had provided false information.
During an unrelated investigation, Officer Ben McIntyre spoke to Ms. Dickson at the Economy Inn, and later learned she had an active warrants through Starke County. While checking on that information, Ms. Dickson attempted to flee on foot.
She was caught and continued to resist. She was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail on charges of Resisting Arrest and False Informing, along with active Warrants from Starke County.
Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
