A single vehicle crash on U.S. 6 Friday morning claimed the life of an Elkhart man.
Marshall County Police were dispatched to U.S. 6, east of Jarrah Road about 9:20 Friday morning. Sergeant Beam was the investigating officer and said 63 year old Walter Conner was traveling west on U.S. 6 in a 1999 Dodge van when for an unknown reason he traveled across the east bound lane, off the south side of the road and hit a fence and a mailbox. The van continued into a ditch that was about 10 feet deep.
Mr. Conner died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
Officials are still investigating the crash.
Assisting in the accident was the Marshall County Coroner`s Office, Union North Ambulance Service, LaPaz Fire Department, Bremen Police Department, Reichert and Knepp Towing Service.
