Last week the Marshall County Commissioners approved the claims as presented except for two which Commissioner Overmyer questioned.
Marshall Superior Court II had submitted a claim for Apple iPads in the amount of $2,820 and a second claim for a printer purchased on Amazon for $160.49.
Commissioner Overmyer said the two purchases did not follow the proper procedure for IT purchases. Several years ago the commissioners and county council directed that all IT purchases be approved by the county’s IT Director Michael Marshall to be assured they would be compatible with existing IT.
Marshall, who was at the meeting said several times departments have purchased technology with the assumption that it will work and when it doesn’t he is expected to make it work.
The commissioners unanimously voted to approve all claims except the two in question.
