PHS_EuropeanVacation2017Six of the thirteen Plymouth High School students who traveled to Europe for two weeks this summer, shared some of their memories with the Plymouth School Board on Tuesday night.

Students Gabby Ruiz, Kate Renneker, Josh Hildebrand, Ali Manges, Autumn Wilson, and Kelsey Kruger were accompanied by teachers Ryan Wolfe and Melissa Faulstitch along with several parent chaperones. Wolfe said they spent six teaching sessions out of the regular school day to study both World History and United States History pertaining to WW II prior to the July trip.

The guided tour took the group to sites commemorating WW II events.

During the board meeting, the students took turns speaking about visiting London, Normandy, Paris, Belgium, Germany, Nuremberg and Munich, and Kehlstein and Salzburg, Austria.

Wolfe said, “Our role as educators is to provide students with experiences that last a lifetime. Whether that be in the classroom or abroad, students lives are shaped every day. This may be the only opportunity some students have to travel abroad during their lifetime.”

Plans are to take students to Europe every two years.
