Webster_Grandparents2017_1Friday’s rainy weather sure didn’t keep special guests away from Webster Elementary School on VIP Day! Hundreds of parents, grandparents and other very important people took the day off of work and made special arrangements to be able to attend this year’s special day.

Webster_Grandparents2017_2The staff at Webster said it was very touching to witness the joy the VIPs bring to the students by simply just walking in the door!

Webster_Grandparents2017_3Traditionally Webster holds a school-wide VIP Day and guests all pack into the gymnasium to watch a K-4 special musical performance. However due to hundreds of guests showing up at once and the limit on the gym’s capacity Principal Carrie McGuire said they decided to change the day’s agenda to stagger guests arrival.

Webster_Grandparents2017_4Kindergarten and first-grade guest arrived starting at 12:30 p.m. and were invited to visit their student’s classroom, play games, and stop by the school’s library where the book fair was going on. Then from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. second through fourth grade VIP guests were invited to do the same with their students.

Webster_Grandparents2017_5McGuire said everything appeared to run smoothly. She said next week she will debrief and evaluate with her staff more and then decide if the school will host future VIP days in the same type of format.
