walorski_2nd DistU.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) Friday announced her staff will host “Medicare 101” educational sessions throughout the 2nd District in order to provide constituents the opportunity to learn the basics of Medicare. These educational events will take place in Wabash, Plymouth, South Bend, La Porte, Elkhart, and Goshen.

“Medicare is a sacred commitment we have made to our seniors, and part of keeping that promise is helping Hoosiers get all the information they need to secure their benefits,” Congresswoman Walorski said. “I encourage all 2nd District residents who are at or near retirement, who are caregivers for Medicare beneficiaries, or who have any questions about the program to attend our ‘Medicare 101’ educational sessions.”

A caseworker from Walorski’s office and a Medicare specialist from Indiana’s State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) will present information about the basics of Medicare and answer constituents’ questions about the program.

Medicare’s Annual Open Enrollment begins October 15, and these “Medicare 101” events offer current Medicare beneficiaries and those “aging into” Medicare the opportunity to learn about the program and have their questions answered by experts.

The “Medicare 101” session in Plymouth will be held on Tuesday, October 10th from 4 until 5:45 p.m. in Laramore Room A of the Plymouth Public Library at 201 North Center Street.

Walorski represents the 2nd Congressional District of Indiana, serving as a member of the House Ways and Means Committee.
