Home Comfort ExpertsMark and Ann Jones received a variance of developmental standards for a new sign at 11819 Lincoln Highway east of Plymouth Tuesday evening.

The Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals listened as Randy Whiteman from Sign Crafters of Osceola discussed a new sign for Home Comfort Experts.  He said the current sign is outdated and doesn’t portray the image their other locations have.

The sign proposed does not meet the standards for the C-1 zoning district.  The proposal approved will allow them to increase the size of the sign from the standard 32 square feet to 52 square feet and allow it to be 15 feet above grade instead of the required 8 feet.  The new sign will also include n electronic messaging sign.

The variance passed by a vote of 3 to 2 with Mark Gidley and Art Jacobs being against the variance.
