annual-meetingThe Marshall County Extension Board, the oversight committee for Purdue Extension activities in Marshall County, will host its annual meeting on Tuesday, October 24.  The meeting will be held at Christo’s Banquet Center, located at 830 Lincolnway east in Plymouth.  The meeting will include a full meal, prepared by Christo’s Banquet Center.

The Extension Board’s Annual Meeting will begin with registration and fellowship at 6:00 pm, with dinner served at 6:30 pm.  This year’s featured speaker, Dr. Hui Hui Wang, Assistant Professor Youth Development and Agricultural Education, Purdue University.  She will present an overview of STEM integration in an educational setting. She will also present several examples of STEM programs she has had success with while working with 4-H youth and other Extension programs. Her expertise on this topic is sure to provide a new and exciting understanding of STEM integration to our community.

The entire Marshall County community is welcome and encouraged to attend.  Tickets for the Marshall County Extension Board Annual Meeting are available through the Marshall County Extension Office or any current Extension Board member, at the cost of $20.00/ticket.  Tickets must be purchased prior to October 17th.

Current Extension Board members include Jesse Bohannon, Karen Boland, Linda Burch, Melissa Christiansen, Peggy Dawson, Daniel Fehrenbach, Valerie Hite, Emily Howard, Karmen Leeper, Scott Michel, Donna Pontius, Kyle Stackhouse, Linda Starr, Dennis Stutzman, and Andrew Suseland. The Junior Board members are Brieanna Slonaker, Luke Snyder, and Samantha Zechiel.

The Purdue Extension Service is represented in Marshall County by Karen Richey, County Extension Director and Extension Educator for Health and Human Sciences, Robert Yoder, Extension Educator for Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Kelsey Sajdera, Extension Educator for 4-H Youth Development. Sandy Read is the coordinator for Community Wellness Program. Nutrition Education Program Assistants include Kathe Beehler and Yolanda Gorka. Office support staff includes Angie Smith, 4-H Youth Development Assistant, Maria Casbon, Health and Human Sciences and Ag and Natural Resources Secretary, and Jessica Kaiser, 4-H Youth Development Secretary.
