Plymouth Senior LIving_1Tuesday evening the Plymouth Plan Commissioner approved the primary and secondary minor plat for a two lot subdivision of 17.5 acres just west of 2542 Lake Avenue also known as ST. RD. 17 for Plymouth Senior Living LLC.

The property will be divided into a 6 acre lot for the senior living facility and the remaining 11 acres will remain agricultural in nature.  It was noted that Plymouth Senior Living will give 1 ½ acres to INDOT for a deceleration lane off of State Road 17.

One neighbor questioned the entrance into the facility, wondering where it would be in relation to Crest Lane.  Plan Director Ralph Booker said the design will make the entrance directly across from Crest Lane.

The city Plan Commissioner unanimously approved the minor 2 lot plat.

During the Board of Zoning Appeals meeting Plymouth Senior Living was granted a variance to construct a 56 unit assisted living facility.  Last month they were granted a variance for 44 units but learned from a study the community needed additional assisted living units so they re-applied for the 56 units.

One neighbor questioned when construction would begin and representatives from Plymouth Senior Living said they are hopeful for a November start with completion in 8 to 9 months.

The BZA unanimously approved the variance to construct the facility in an R-2 Suburban Residential District.
