An elderly woman who had just had her eyes dilated at the eye doctor caused a 5 vehicle accident Monday afternoon at Michigan and Jefferson Streets.
71 year old Carolyn Woolley was traveling west on East Jefferson Street in the eastbound lane of travel. When she crossed over North Michigan Street she crashed head on into a car driven by 50 year old Beth Baker of Knox who was stopped at the traffic light. The impact of the crash caused Baker’s car into a car driven by 17 year old Alicia Smith of Plymouth, and that impact caused Smith’s car into an SUV driven by 36 year old Katie Davis of Plymouth.
After the initial crash Mrs. Woolley put her vehicle in reverse and crossed over North Michigan Street again and struck a car driven by 57 year old Rebecca Vamos of Rochester that was stopped on East Jefferson Street at the light in the westbound lane.
Plymouth Police Officer Chad Beatty was the investigating officer and noted that Woolley was wearing dark glasses and said she couldn’t see anything.
All vehicles were towed from the scene.
No major injuries were reported.
