The Bourbon Town Council voted unanimously Tuesday evening to extend their contract for trash pickup with Republic Services from Culver. Kim Berger, Clerk/Treasurer, said the current contract is due to expire later this year and Republic was requesting a 3-5 year commitment. All of the comments from the council members were positive as to the services being provided.
The town board took official action naming Tuesday, October 31 as Halloween night. The designated hours in Bourbon will be 5 to 7 P.M. Police Chief Bill Martin agreed to ask reserve officers to be available to help monitor those participating.
In previous years, Halloween activities were provided in the park; however, the council said they are hoping those activities can be moved to the downtown area to have more participation.
