City HallBig changes are about to happen at City Hall.  With the $2.2 million renovation project set to begin later this month, the city offices have decided to vacate the building making the remolding job easier for Michiana Contracting who was the low bidder.

During the upcoming renovations of Plymouth’s City Hall, the Clerk’s Office and Mayor’s Office will relocate to the former City News Agency, two doors south of city hall at 118 North Michigan Street.  Starting on Tuesday, September 19th city residents and businesses will need to use this new location to handle city business.  It was noted that the drop box on Garro Street will be maintained for after-hours payment of water bills and parking tickets.

The City Attorney will relocate his office to the Plymouth Municipal Airport.

The city will be leasing the 118 North Michigan Street building from JMU Properties LLC for $1,400 per month.  It’s anticipated the renovation project will be completed in late May or early June 2018.

All city meetings that are currently held in the council chambers; Plymouth Plan Commission, Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals and Redevelopment Commission will be held at the Plymouth Fire Department Training Classroom at 111 North Center Street. Those attending city meetings are asked to use the south side entrance.

Some city meetings that are currently held in the Council Chambers will be relocated to other locations.  The Urban Forest and Flower Committee will meet at the Conservation Clubhouse and the Board of Aviation Commissioners will move to the Plymouth Municipal Airport after their September 11th meeting.
